UKISS Technology, the creator of the world’s first phrase-free hardware wallet, has been chosen to partner with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) on Web3 education.
As part of this five-year partnership, the Malaysian arm of UKISS Technology and the Faculty of Computer Science at UNIMAS will work hand in hand to strengthen academic research and education in the fields of blockchain technology, decentralised protocols, digital assets, the metaverse, and NFTs. Both parties will contribute in the areas of research, academia, human resource, facilities and software and hardware development.
Computer Science undergraduates at UNIMAS can expect to embark on a value-added curriculum filled with opportunities to develop industry-relevant skillsets through enriching projects, internships, and seminars.
“This is our first collaboration with an industry partner, and we are confident that it will spur the progress of UNIMAS Innotech Hub to pioneer new technologies adoption and innovations across Sarawak. I look forward to working closely with UKISS Technology in crafting various incubation and accelerator programmes for the university,” says Prof Dr Wan Hashim Wan Ibrahim, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Deputy President, Research & Innovation.
“We see a lot of potential in this partnership, and we are excited to offer our expertise and experience in the Web3 space – where limitless possibilities await. While Web3 represents decentralisation and the importance of user-controlled private key management, our patented UKISS Hugware® technology makes it easy and secure for all users,” says James Gan, Chief Executive Officer, of UKISS Technology.
